Job Description
FULL TIME / REMOTE / PERMANENT / NORTH AMERICA
We are looking for an experienced CAD Specialist with strong expertise in architectural lighting to join our team. This is not a general CAD drafter role. We need someone who already understands lighting systems, architectural detailing, and technical coordination.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed shop drawings for architectural lighting products, including downlights, track systems, wiring diagrams, and mounting details
- Create complete AutoCAD drawing sets, blocks, templates, and detail libraries
- Review and interpret architectural, electrical, and reflected ceiling plans
- Coordinate with sales reps, contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and product managers to clarify technical details
- Ensure drawings meet project specifications, installation requirements, and industry standards
- Update drawings based on feedback from field teams or engineering
- Maintain organized file structures and documentation for all drawing revisions
- Communicate clearly in a remote environment, providing timely updates and asking proactive questions
- Support product development or engineering teams with technical illustrations when needed
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality standards across all draft outputs
Requirements
Must Have
- 5–10+ years producing shop drawings for architectural lighting or related technical fields
- Strong knowledge of:
- • Downlights
- • Low-voltage track lighting systems
- • Drivers & control gear
- • Mounting and installation methods
- • Wiring diagrams
- Expert-level AutoCAD skills, including creating full drawing sets, custom blocks, and templates
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical plans
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders (reps, contractors, engineers, product managers)
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting
Nice to Have
- Experience with AGi32 or Dialux for lighting calculations/layouts
- Knowledge of Revit
- Mechanical design exposure (SolidWorks, Inventor, 3D modeling)
- Experience working in manufacturing environments (extrusions, tolerances, assembly processes)
